Three small tools that earn their keep

Each runs entirely in your browser. No account, no signup, no tracking. The pantry checklist saves to your browser so you can come back to it.

Converter

Kitchen unit converter

Cups to grams, tablespoons to milliliters, ounces to grams. Ingredient-aware: 1 cup of flour weighs different from 1 cup of sugar.

Scaler

Recipe scaler

Multiply or halve a recipe. Warns you about salt, garlic, chili, and other things that don't scale linearly. Saves your last setting.

Checklist

Pantry checklist

The 12 pantry staples I keep, with check boxes that remember what you've already got. No login. Data stays in your browser.

Why these are simple on purpose

Most "kitchen tools" online want you to make an account, sign up for a newsletter, and accept a tracking pixel before they'll convert teaspoons to grams. None of that is needed for arithmetic. These tools do their job, save what's useful in your own browser, and don't ask for anything.

If you have an idea for a tool that would actually help — a cook-time scaler for different oven sizes, a doneness calculator for steak, anything else — tell me at hello@chefmelissa.shop. The bar for adding a tool to this site is "I would use this myself every week."
