By using this site you agree to these terms
If you read pages on chefmelissa.shop, use the kitchen tools, or send me a message, you accept the terms below. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site. The terms can change; the date at the top of this page is the last time I updated them substantively.
What you can do
- Read the recipes and guides for personal, non-commercial use.
- Print or save a recipe page for your own kitchen.
- Link to a recipe page from your own site, blog, or social account, with normal attribution ("Recipe from Chef Melissa, link").
- Cook the recipes for your family, friends, or paying guests at a private dinner, without telling me first.
What you can't do
- Republish a recipe's text or photo, in full or in large part, on another website, social account, app, newsletter, or printed product without written permission. Quoting a sentence with attribution and a link is fine.
- Train an AI model on the content of this site without written permission.
- Scrape the site at a rate that interferes with normal reader access.
- Remove the byline, the canonical link, or the attribution from anything you save.
- Use the site name "Chef Melissa" or the logo to imply a partnership that doesn't exist.
Recipes are not professional advice
The recipes are written for typical home cooks in a home kitchen. They're not medical, dietary, or food-safety guidance for anyone with allergies, immune conditions, pregnancy concerns, or commercial-kitchen requirements. Read the disclaimer for details.
Third-party content
The site links to other sites where it's useful (industry opt-out tools, Google's policies, government food-safety pages). I don't control those sites and I'm not responsible for what they say or do.
Ads on the site are served by Google AdSense. The advertised products are not endorsed by me unless I explicitly say so on a separate page.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is." I work to keep it accurate and online, but I don't guarantee it will be free of errors or always available. To the extent allowed by law, I'm not liable for losses (including the cost of ingredients, time, or appliances) that come from using the site.
If a recipe is wrong, please tell me and I'll fix it. That's a much better outcome than a lawyer's letter, and it actually helps the next reader.
Termination
I may remove or change a page at any time. If I remove a recipe you bookmarked, that's why. The privacy policy explains what happens to any message you sent me.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the site owner lives, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute should first be raised by email so we can try to resolve it directly.
