What ads run here

This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google places programmatic display ads in pre-defined slots on the recipe and guide pages. I do not run pop-ups, pop-unders, auto-playing video with sound, or interstitials that block the recipe.

The publisher account is ca-pub-5954197996123596. The site's ads.txt file authorises Google to sell ad inventory for this domain.

What ads pay for

Ads pay for the domain name, the hosting, the time I spend writing and testing recipes, and occasional ingredient costs (mostly the recipes I retest). They do not pay anyone else: this is a one-person site.

What ads do not influence

  • Which recipes I publish.
  • Which ingredients I recommend.
  • What I say about a brand or product in a recipe.
  • Whether I link to another site.
  • Whether I update or remove an article.

If an advertiser ever asked me to soften a review, change a recipe, or remove a competitor's link in exchange for ad spend, I would say no, and the request would be made public on this page.

What I won't accept as an advertiser

  • Anything illegal where you live or where I live.
  • Tobacco, vaping, illicit drugs, or weapons.
  • Diet pills, "miracle weight loss" products, and similar.
  • Adult content.
  • Cryptocurrency speculation, trading platforms, or investment "schemes."
  • Anything that involves cloaking, malware, deceptive download buttons, or fake "you've won" creatives.

If you see an ad on this site that fits one of the above categories, please send me the URL of the page where you saw it and a screenshot if you have one. Programmatic ads sometimes slip through; I'll block the advertiser as soon as I can.

Sponsorships and affiliate links

I do not currently run sponsorships and I do not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, the affected pages will carry a clear label at the top ("This recipe is sponsored by..." or "Some links below are affiliate links..."), and this page will be updated first to explain the new arrangement. Any sponsorship will only happen if I would have written the same article without it.

How ad personalisation works

Google may personalise the ads you see based on your visits to this site and others, where you've consented. You can turn that off at Google Ads Settings or, in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, by changing your consent at /privacy-settings.html.

The full advertising disclosures are in the privacy policy.

Ad placement principles

  • The recipe card is reachable above the fold (or after one short paragraph) on every recipe page. The "Jump to recipe" button is in the hero.
  • Ads do not appear inside the recipe card.
  • The print button works without ads loading first.
  • Policy pages, contact, accessibility, and the privacy-settings page do not show ads.
